On March 12th, 2026, at Light + Building 2026, the HumanIC project and REHVA hosted a compelling seminar: “Ventilation in Hospitals: Human-Centric Challenges in Sustainable Healthcare Buildings.”
The event provided a global stage for our Doctoral Candidates—Rahmat Rizal, Muhammad Tayyab Waheed, and Vasco Vasconcelos—to present their latest research to the building services community. Supported by Project Coordinator Anna Bogdan and Green Charter Officer Marcin Michalski, the team challenged traditional HVAC paradigms.
Their core message was clear: the future of sustainable healthcare depends on human-aware strategies. By repositioning patients and staff as active participants in the indoor environment rather than passive occupants, we can bridge the gap between clinical safety, personal comfort, and energy efficiency.
