Objectives: The primary objective is to develop new knowledge about the flow patterns and thermal parameters in vicinity of surgeons, medical staff and patients depending on their activity and body positions, clothing and surgical procedure.
Expected Results: Detailed characteristics of the micro-environment generated by the surgeons and medical staff for selected types of surgery (e.g. orthopedic, laryngological, cardiological etc.). Boundary conditions for the development of heat models of surgeons and medical staff. Input data for physiological models used to individual thermal sensation predictions; Guidelines for medical clothing industry concerning thermal comfort and ergonomics.
